Maintaining your automated system is essential to keep it working efficiently.
The Machine directives state that all automated systems must be serviced annually or to the manufacturer's requirements. We can offer tailor-made maintenance agreements and service plans to suit your specific needs and offer 24, 12 or 04 hour call-out response times when you take out a service plan, giving you peace of mind that we can get your system operational as quickly as possible at a reduced cost.
When you take out a maintenance plan with us, we will conduct a risk assessment and safety report on our first visit to ensure that your system is as safe as possible and within safety standard regulations. There have been changes recently to the safety standards employed when designing new gate/door systems. These standards also apply to existing systems. Maintenance inspectors must now include force/load tests to a higher degree of accuracy than those previously, and our operatives are trained to identify where a system fails to comply with the standard.
None-compliance may be caused by one of the following examples:
- Drive motors that have a functional operating force beyond the allowable level where no comprehensive obstruction detection system exists.
- Incomplete detection system (pinch/shear/crush points not protected)
- Detection system complete but not to the category 3 standard.
This list is not conclusive.
The standards referred to above are as follows:
BS EN 12978 Safety devices. Requirements & test methods
BS EN 13241-1 Safety & performance requirements
BS EN 12445 Safety in use of power operated doors. Test methods
BS EN 12453 Safety in use of power operated doors. Requirements
ISO 9001:2008 Accredited
The Machine Directive 2006/42/EC
